Butler Fire Department Press Release, Jim Henry Fire Chief

On Friday, April 4 at approximately 7:23 A.M. , the Butler Fire Dept. along with automatic mutual aid from Adrian Fire, was dispatched to a reported shop fire on Rt. 4 southwest of Butler.

On arrival, heavy smoke was found from a 60' X 200' metal shop building. An interior attack was initiated and the fire was located and extinguished. There was heavy significant heat and smoke damage to the building and contents, which included several vehicles and machinery.

The fire was declared under control at 8:14 A.M., with the last units leaving the scene at 9:45 A.M. The fire was determined to be accidental in nature. There were no injuries.

Additional mutual aid was requested from Amsterdam Fire, who responded to cover the Butler station.
