Bates County Casino Night

(fm92 news)  The 7^th annual Bates County Casino Night will be held on Saturday, April 5^th at the Adrian Optimist Building.  Social hour will be from 6:30 – 7:30 and the Casino will be open from 7:30 – 10:00pm.  All proceeds will benefit the Bates County Child Abuse Assessment & Treatment Children’s Center.

Highlights of the evening will include a live auction, plinko, raffle items and live mouse races.  There will be free food and beverages catered by Butthead BBQ.

Some of the items to be auctioned off include a Tate Steven Autographed Guitar, custom built yard swing, Adirondack chairs, an autographed framed poster of the KC Chiefs Len Dawson, Sterling Silver bracelet and a load of gravel.

They are also selling Raffle tickets to win a $500 gift certificate to the Crooked Fence Gun Shop.  Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets may be purchased from members of the Children’s Center Committee or at the Juvenile Office.  Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.  You must be 21 years of age to attend and must have a ticket to enter.

Bates County Ducks Unlimited Dinner and Auction

Bates County Ducks Unlimited invites you to their dinner and auction at the Adrian Optimist Building on April 19^th.  The Adrian Optimist Building is on Old 71 Hwy in Adrian.

Happy hour will begin at 5:30pm, dinner at 6 and the Live Auction will kick off at 7pm.

Admission is $35 per person; $50 per couple; %15 Greenwing (children 17 and under) and this includes a dinner, a one year subscription to the Ducks Unlimited magazine and a one year membership to Ducks Unlimited.

De-Stressing at Bates County Memorial Hospital's "Pamper Yourself"

As stress can create serious health conditions, Bates County Memorial Hospital sponsored a Pamper Yourself event for area women on March 21, 2014. The evening was filled with educational health information, stress reduction techniques, and special pampering. With the help of several area businesses, over 125 women enjoyed a delightful evening to de-stress.

Thank you to these volunteers who donated their time and talents to make otherwomen feel special.

St. Patrick Catholic Churches Annual Fish Fry

St. Patrick Catholic Churches will be hosting their annual fish on Friday, March 28^th at their church located at 400 West Nursery Street in Butler.  Come and enjoy a delicious meal for only $10 for adults; 6 – 12 is only $5 and children under 5 will eat free.

Miami Senior Class Winter Warm-up

The Miami Senior Class is having a fun evening on Saturday March 29^th.  Doors open at 4pm for you to view the items for the silent auction which will run until 7pm.  The spaghetti dinner will begin at 5pm for a free will donation.  To end the evening you can dance to the sounds of Louisburg’s own Juarez featuring Dr. Damon Dennis in the Miami school gym, admission is $7 for singles and $10 for couples.

National Doctor’s Day March 30th

Sunday, March 30^th is the celebration of National Doctor’s Day in the United States. National Doctors Day was designated by the Congress; the proclamation was signed and designated on March 30, 1991 by President George Bush.  The proclamation further stated that Americans are encouraged to observe the day with appropriate programs and activities.

Friday, March 30^th is a time we set aside to honor the Doctors in the Butler area for their commitment to quality health care and to recognize society owes a debt of gratitude for the contributions of physicians.  We also recognize the sympathy and compassion shown by physicians in ministering to the sick and alleviating human suffering.

We honor the following for National Doctor’s Day:

Sears Grand Opening March 29th

Relay For Life Sponsorships Needed

Now is the time for everyone to play an important part in this year’s Bates County’s Relay for Life.  Corporate sponsors are needed for the June 7^th event.  This is an opportunity for you to touch the lives of current and future cancer patients through research, education, advocacy and services to patients.

The theme of this year’s event will be “Color a Cure” and the Butler Square will feature Relay team sites displaying many of the colors used to create awareness of various types of cancer.

As a corporate sponsor your contribution will help create and maintain local programs to provide nutritional supplements, patient travel services, Look Good Feel Better programs, cancer survivor to cancer patient support programs, wigs and prosthetic devices.  Your participation will help to make sure these programs are available to residents of Bates County.
