MLB cancels more than 60 million votes for the All-Star Game

by Chad Hunsaker, fm92 Sports

Between 60 and 65 million All-Star ballots have been canceled because of concerns about voting. Biggest concern some of the votes have been a non-human voting. MLB has said all along that they have safeguards in place to keep fraudulent voting from happening. Bob Bowman, CEO of MLB said the votes were voided due to the possibility of fraudulent voting.

Controversy over All-Star voting has been blowing up for weeks after eight Kansas City Royals players took the lead to make the starting lineup for the American League. Eight Royals have been tabbed for starting spots in recent days and many Kansas City position players were leading from the start of the MLB All-Star vote. More than 300 million ballots had been cast, according to MLB.

Toby Cook with the Kansas City Royals Vice-President Community Affairs & Publicity said, “My guess is that we’re going to have several different Royals in the All-Star Game when it is all said and done.”

You can still vote until Thursday, July 2nd.
