Farner-Bocken Distribution Center to open in late August

Construction is underway on the east side of the former Wilson Tire Shop located on Fort Scott Street in Butler. The New Owner, Farner-Bocken Company, was founded in 1939 and is based out of Carroll, Iowa.


The Company is a family owned distributor of convenience store and food service products. The Company services 14 states while supplying over 12,000 items in categories of cigarettes, candy, snacks, tobacco, groceries, automotive, beverages, health and beauty, paper, ice cream, chemicals, supplies and convenience foods. The Farner-Bocken Company, scheduled to open in late summer, will employ a staff of 10 – 15 team members.

Fm-92 Spoke with Dean Onken, President of the Company, regarding job applications . Dean stated that the employees would be a combination of new hires and employees that will be transferred from other locations. Farner-Bocken Distribution Center will use Radio Advertising and Newspaper Advertising to announce when applications will be accepted at the Butler Distribution Center. The Center plans to be open Monday through Friday with hours yet to be announced.

Construction is now underway on the east side of the former Wilson Tire facility. Docks will allow products to move from larger trucks to smaller trucks. The interior will house full case and split case picking areas . The company will deliver the majority of their customers’ orders within 36 hours of receiving them.
