Baby Grand Piano Restoration Update

BATES COUNTY, Mo – Each dollar donated marks one step closer to the much needed funds the Bates County Museum needs for the restoration of their Steinway Baby Grand Piano. As of February 13th, $22,000 has been raised toward the goal of $50,000, and the May 15th deadline is quickly approaching.

Donations have come in from various places; some in memory of music teachers and music oriented organizations are all helping the Bates County Museum with their vision of a restored baby grand piano in the Museum.

When this $50,000 goal is met, the yearlong restoration process will begin. The piano will be shipped to New York, where the work will be done, and upon completion, the piano will be brought back to Bates County and take its rightful place in the Museum to be used for various community events such as recitals and special events.

Donations in any amount will be appreciated and they may be sent to the Museum’s Pay Pal account: gofundme or contact Peggy Buhr, Bates County Museum Director at 660-679-0134. The Steinway may be seen on the Museum web at www.batescountymuseum.org.
