BUTLER, Mo – Rodger Cecil, Butler’s Animal Control Officer, met with Bert Brooks with House of Hound in Grandview, Mo last week in regard to using his services to decrease the number of dogs that are euthanized in Butler due to low adoption rates and neglectful owners who choose not to pick up their dogs.
Brooks is working with the city to help save the lives of some of these dogs. Unfortunately, they will not be able to save the life of every dog that comes their way, but this is a start to decrease the number of dogs that will have to be put down.
Cecil has verified that House of Hound is a legitimate dog rescue organization and has reviewed Mr. Brooks’ state and local documentation which is available for public viewing on his website www.houseofhound.org. In the past, opportunities to work with rescue organizations have failed due to those organizations not being legitimate licensed rescues. By law Butler is required to work only with those rescues which are legitimate and licensed.
