INDEPENDENCE, Mo - The Independence Police Department currently are investigating the theft of a bronze statue. The statue is approximately 6 feet tall and depicts a frontier woman holding a child and a bucket. The statue was stolen from the National Frontiers Trails Center, located at 318 West Pacific Avenue in Independence around June 15th.
It is possible that the statue has been disassembled. The current value of the statue is estimated at $75,000. There is a reward that is being offered for the return of the statue or information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the crime.
