The Bates County Fair will kick off with the Parade that will hit the Butler Square on Tuesday, July 8th.
“Where The Road Ends and The Fun Begins” is the theme for this year’s parade. Line up and judging will begin at 5pm at the Bates County Fairgrounds and participants must check in with officials at the front gate. You must check in to be judged and there will be no late judging.
The parade will leave the fairgrounds at 5:30 and should arrive at the Butler Square by approximately 6pm. The route will be traveling west on Nursery Street to Delaware then north to the Square.
Cash prizes will be given to animal drawn vehicles, floats, bicycles for ages 12 and under and 3 or 4 wheelers.
Ribbons and trophies will be given to the antique/classic automobiles and tractors as well as ribbons to the horse groups.
Musical groups and comedy floats are also welcome. The saddle club with the most riders will receive a trophy sponsored by Don Law.
