Civil War Research Returns to Bates County

Dr. Ann Raab has returned to Bates County to conduct a University Student Archaeology Field School right here in Bates County.

Archaeology students are in Bates County the month of June, and on Saturday, June 21st the public is invited to visit their current dig site which is a continuation of Dr. Raab’s work on the devastation caused by Order No. 11 during the Civil War.

Visitors will meet in the parking lot of the Bates County Museum at 9am on June 21st. The group will then caravan to the dig-site which is near Amsterdam.
