Cass Co. – D.A.R.E. Officers from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Harrisonville Police Department and Archie Police Department spent Monday preparing for the 8th Annual DARE Camp in Harrisonville. The Sheriff’s Office will host more than 70 students from around the county for the 3 day camp. The focus of the camp is to reinforce the DARE message and this year’s theme, “Be a Champion” will help identify and provide positive alternative activities to drug use and delinquent behavior. Camp will include some of the traditional camp activities, as well as team building events. The camp is structured to build within each student a positive impression of deputy sheriffs, police officers, military and emergency personnel, many of whom will be directly involved with the camp in some capacity.
DARE Camp will kick off Tuesday morning in the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at 8:00 am with a special message from Cass County teachers and principals.
The camp is made possible in part from a donation from the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791 and numerous local businesses.
