Over 121,000 individuals are now waiting for a transplant. The theme for the 2nd annual Giving Fore Living celebration was focusing on how organ donations save lives.
Darin Wainscott’s selfless act of organ donations saved the lives of at least 4 people and gave 2 people the gift of sight.
Family and friends came together Saturday, June 21st to recognize Darin’s contributions and to also raise money to support and promote organ donations, to support local charities reflecting Darin’s values and to support the Darin Wainscott Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The first scholarship recipient is Cameron Rice, who will be attending Pittsburg State University in the fall.
Mike Harenza, Hospital Coordinator for the Midwest Transplant Network spoke of the need for organ transplant donors.
Featured speaker of the evening was Jeff Montgomery, Hall of Fame pitcher for the KC Royals.
The golf cart was won by Lecia Irvin of Adrian.
