BATES COUNTY …. Bert Brooks, founder of House of Hound in Grandview, Mo. Is playing a vital part in the animal Euthanization of dogs held at the Butler dog pound. Brooks was excited to say that he reached an agreement with the city of Butler to work to find homes for the dogs, instead of the dreaded alternative.
According to Brooks, dogs facing Euthanization in the Butler facility will instead be transferred to the House of Hound facility where they can receive basic medical attention and be held until a new owner is sought. He also expressed thanks to Butler Animal Control Officer Rodger Cecil for his help in sealing the deal.
Brooks went on to say that the core of the problem is that there are no local shelters and animal control departments can only hold the dogs for a set period of time. He is planning to reach out to other local towns in our area with the same offer.
House of Hound is a state licensed, non-for-profit entity. The House of Hound Facebook page can be found here https://www.facebook.com/houseofhound
