Preserve Our History and Sustain Our Heritage

BATES COUNTY, Mo – That is just one of the functions of the Bates County Historical Society.

Doris Fuller and Tyler Bise are the two new additions to the Historical Society Board, elected during the recent annual meeting on March 7th at the Bates County Museum. They join other Board Members Stan Sechrest, Alan Mundey, Joyce Grainger, Jim Bartlett, Jim Ray, Kevin Hines and Hank Roberts.

The morning was enjoyed by all as everyone brought “show and tell” items to share with those attending. Outgoing board members recognized for their tireless effort during the meeting were Jim Fisher and Doug West, who both have served on the Board for three-2 year terms, and according to Bates County Museum Director Peggy Buhr, “Both have given an extraordinary amount of time, talent and support to the Museum.”

The Bates County Museum is open April through October Tuesday thru Friday, 9:30am – 4pm; Saturday, 9:30 – 12 noon. The Museum is closed Sunday and Monday and all legal holidays.
