Arrested for Outstanding Warrants

BATES COUNTY, Mo – On 03-11-2015 Bates County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop at 52 west and J highway. The Bates County Deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle. The Driver of the vehicle was identified as Charles Westmoreland JR of Butler (DOB 10-03-1983). Upon further investigation by the Bates County Deputy it was determined that Charles Westmoreland JR had two outstanding warrants out of Bates County. The warrants were a result of a long term investigation. The investigation was conducted by the CNET into the distribution of illegal narcotics.


Charles Westmoreland JR is currently in the Bates County Jail for the following charges: Two charges of Distribute/Deliver/Manufacture/Produce or Possess with intent to distribute Methamphetamine which is a class B felony. Bond was set at $75,000.00 cash or surety. Possession of a controlled substance of methamphetamine, a class C felony and Possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana, a class A misdemeanor. Bond was set at $12,500.00 cash or surety.
