Drug Arrest in Bronaugh, One in Custody

VERNON COUNTY, Mo – Investigators with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office found what they believe to be methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia during a search warrant that was served in Bronaugh, late Thursday afternoon in a search for a parole absconder.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, investigators were in search of Jill Nelson who had felony warrants for possession of a controlled substance and was also wanted by the Missouri Department of Corrections for being a parole absconder. Sheriff Jason Mosher said Nelson was not found during the search of the residence but was apprehended by deputies the following morning on Friday at a separate location.

Nelson is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a no-bond warrant from DOC, and a felony warrant for drug possession with a $10,000 cash or surety bond. The Sheriff said his office may also be applying for additional charges when the investigation is complete but said he could not give any more details at this time.
