BUTLER, MO – During the City Council meeting on Tuesday, November 4th, Dana McIntire from Troutt Beeman told council the city’s audit received a clean opinion, which is the best opinion you can receive.
The Finance Committee brought a recommendation to the council to approve McLiney and Company for the cities financial advisor. The recommendation was approved. The company will only be used when needed.
Zoning Board of Adjustment – Neil Steiner received a variance to build a garage/shop in his side yard at 1 South Courtney Drive and Stan Harris received a variance to put a 10 foot addition on to his garage at 804 N. Havanna.
The title searches are completed for the demolition project and the searches found 9 properties have back taxes on them. The owners will be contacted regarding the taxes; no demolition of those properties will proceed before the taxes are paid.
The Butler Airport is now open and the coat and cross drains have been delayed until spring.
In Closed Session: A motion to appoint Casey Koehn as Butler City Administrator was made and seconded. The voting on the motion was a follows:
David Brown – absent
Brian Phillips – yes
Thom Burg – abstain
Gayle Stark – yes
Harold Weil – no
Terry Agnew – abstain
Shawn McVey – abstain
Kyle DuBray – absent
The motion failed to carry and no decision was made concerning Butler’s City Administrator position at this time.
