Unsung Heroes

BATES COUNTY, Mo – As everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving holiday and meal, let’s take a moment to say “thanks” to the many people who are working so we can enjoy Thanksgiving.

Thank you to law enforcement, the Sheriff’s office and local police for keeping our towns safe and sound; to Judge Debra Hopkins and her family that spend their Thanksgiving cooking for people at the Butler Senior Center and delivering a meal to those who are unable to cook for themselves.

Thanks to all the personnel at the hospital and nursing homes that are taking care of our loved ones on Thanksgiving; and thanks to those working at local restaurants providing a meal that you didn’t have to cook.

This list isn’t complete; there are many unsung heroes in our midst, people we take for granted that simply keep on doing their jobs.

Let’s take the opportunity to look around simply count our blessings this Thanksgiving season.
