The Better Business Bureau has issued another scam alert. This one involves bank and credit card statements. If you find a fee charge of $9.84 on either on your bank or credit statement from companies that you haven’t done business with, you possibly have been scammed.
The $9.84 from a company you've never done business with could mean that your card may have been compromised at some point. The BBB also stated that if you try to Google the company's name, many people are finding it leads to a page on the internet that claims it's "customer support."
Many times scammers charge small amounts in the hopes that you won’t notice the small amount. If you find the $9.84 charge on your statement, contact your bank and alert them.
You may choose to get a new card and new account number from the bank.
Consumers need to be aware of this new scam.
