Relay for Life Preliminary Results

Relay for Life’s annual event was held on Saturday, June 7th and because of the inclement weather it was held inside the Wilson Tire Building. The Committee and Team Captains rose to the occasion of changing places and all involved did a fantastic job.

Here are the preliminary results; teams have until August to turn in their final numbers.

The 2014 goal was $48,500 and final count on Saturday was $40,630.29. Here are the team totals reported:


  1. MOM – $10058.50

  2. Team Educate – $5859.02

  3. Team Hope – $4201.54

  4. Mash – $2908.00

  5. Tiger Pride – $1346.85

  6. Pulling Against Cancer – $1276.00

  7. Christians Conquering Cancer $989.50

  8. Heartland Angels – $951.60

  9. Willow Lane Dream Team – $807.08

  10. Johnston Inspired $ 720.00

  11. Rotary – $410.

  12. Medicalodge Cure Crusaders – $690.00

  13. Liberty Utilities – $ 122.00

  14. Lifesavers – $105.00

Luminaries 350 sold and 25 lanterns were sold. The silent auction generated $789.00 and the regular auction $3,191.00


In the raffle the $500.00 cash prize was won by Dylan Triebel of Butler; the $100.00 from Massey’s Country Mart Card was Caleb Pickman of Belton. The quilt was won by Paula Reed of Adrian.


Several walkers walked over ten miles and they were:

5 year old Cooper Johnson – 7 miles

7 year old Avery Dawn – 20 miles

Brendon Oliver – 10 miles

Penny Sullins – 15 miles

Rachel Oliver – 21 miles
