BUTLER, MO – According to Alan J. Mundey, 4-H Youth Specialist, Bates County 4-H’ers once again displayed first-rate exhibits at the Ozark Empire Fair, held July 24-August 2, in Springfield. With a total of 69 exhibits taken to the fair, the local 4-H’ers brought home 2 Grand Champion ribbons and 2 Reserve Champion ribbons.
The Grand Champion recipients are as follows: Allison Jenkins (feed comparison poster) and Maylen Lawson (sheep breed book). Reserve Champions include Micah Patrick (mailboxes photo) and Braxton Wikoff (white potatoes). In addition, Bates County 4-H’ers were awarded 54 blue ribbons, 14 red ribbons and 1 white ribbon.
