BATES COUNTY, MO – On January 8, 2015 Bates County Sheriff’s Office CNET Drug Task Force, and Butler Police Department executed a search warrant at 209 South Willow in Butler. Once inside the residence a search of the residence was conducted. Bates County Narcotics agents located illegal narcotics though out the residence. Office collected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the residence, to pursue criminal charges.
The search warrant was a result of a long term investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine. The suspect Charles Westmoreland was not at the residence when the search warrant was executed. Law enforcement located Charles Westmoreland in the Country Mart parking lot inside his vehicle. Officer’s made contact with Charles Westmoreland and arrested him on sight.
Charles Westmoreland DOB 10-03-1983 of Butler was arrested and is currently in the Bates County jail on a $25,000.00 Cash or Surety bond for Distribution of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine) a class B Felony.
