Nevada Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

VERNON COUNTY, Mo – A California resident has been arrested in connection to burglary cases in Nevada. The Nevada Police Department Officials concluded an investigation into several burglaries that occurred in Nevada.


Officers were dispatched on December 28th to three separate overnight burglaries in different parts of the community. Little evidence was recovered at the time, but Officers discovered unlawful entry was made through unsecured garage doors, which allowed entry into the homes. Victims reported cash, credit cards, and computer equipment stolen in the incidents.


On January 9th, Texas authorities arrested 24 year old Justin Beckwith, who has apparently been involved in a nationwide crime spree. At the time of his arrest, Beckwith was driving a stolen car from Virginia, and was wanted on robbery charges from Florida.


Local police recovered items of property stolen from the Nevada residents. Nevada Police Detectives continue their investigation in partnership with Texas authorities, and are arranging return of recovered property.


Beckwith is now facing charges for Burglary, Stealing, and Theft of a Credit Device in Vernon County. Beckwith remains in custody in Potter County Correction Center in Amarillo, Texas on multiple charges from several states.
