The dedication ceremony for the Butler Solar Energy Farm will be held on Friday, April 25th beginning at 11am. The Solar Farm is located at 920 Enterprise Road.
In the years following the Civil War, Butler built the first public power plant west of the Mississippi earning Butler the nickname “The Electricity City.” Now flash forward to a celebration of 10,000 solar panels, 14 acres of tilted 12 x 15 panels and solar power production that will offset an estimated 9% of Butler’s energy usage.
State and Local dignitaries will be hand for the celebration and the public is also invited to share in this monumental occasion as MC Power Companies, MPUA (Missouri Public Utility Alliance), MJMEUC (Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission) and the City of Butler dedicate the Butler Solar Energy Farm on Friday, April 25th at 11am.
