BUTLER, MO – On 03/01/2015 Butler Officers were dispatched to a reported “self defense” action at 409 South Fran Street. Upon arrival Officers were advised that 41 year old Shawn Holsworth had pulled a knife in a threatening manner on three male subjects.
One of the subjects, 25 year old Cody Kyser, was armed with a 38 caliber revolver and warned Holsworth to put the knife down. Holsworth failed to put the knife down and lunged at the three subjects including Kyser. Kyser then discharged his firearm, striking Holsworth in the leg. Holsworth walked over to a friend’s apartment and then several minutes later walked to his own apartment.
Officers located Holsworth in his apartment and called for an ambulance. Holsworth was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Charges are pending following the conclusion of the investigation.
