Three Kansas Men Wanted For Burglary

VERNON COUNTY, Mo – Warrants for three Kansas residents have been issued for burglary and theft of firearms after deputies took a report of a burglary from a Vernon County home near the Kansas State line in the southwest part of Vernon County.


According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office investigators received information with the help of the home owner and was able to identify stolen items in the Fort Scott area.


Investigators were then able to gain camera footage and identify two of the suspects which led investigators to working with the Frontenac Police Department, and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office in serving two search warrants in Frontenac Kansas.

Thousands of dollars in property was recovered including four firearms.


According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, the stolen property was not all they recovered, “a meth lab was also found in the residence while they were searching for the stolen property” said Sheriff Mosher. Arrest warrants with charges of burglary, theft, and theft of a firearm were issued for Terrell L Pepper, Scott Carr, and Shane Collins. Bond has been set at $5,000. “The investigation is still ongoing for items that are still missing, but we will be able to return a large portion of what was taken from the homeowner” said Mosher.


The Sheriff said the three suspects are currently at large and he is asking for anyone with information on the suspects contact the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office at (417) 667-6042.
