BATES COUNTY, Mo – When the 200 citizens of Amsterdam first came together to plan and have a jubilee in 1975, who would have thought that from that humble beginning 38 years later the jubilee is still going strong and bringing enjoyment and entertainment to not only the 200 citizens of Amsterdam but to those from all around this area.
The festivities will start off with a Kickoff supper and entertainment on Main Street on Friday night, September 26th.
Jubilee Day, Saturday, September 27th will begin with a pancake breakfast and then check into the vendor booths that will line the street. If you are interested in having a booth, there are still spaces available. Get in touch through Facebook at the Amsterdam Jubilee, or e-mail Jackie12164@hotmail.com, or call 660-679-1687.
The parade theme is “Back to Our Roots” and Elenora Crawford, who just celebrated her 95th birthday, has the honor as being the Grand Marshall.
In addition to the parade and the vendors, there will be a baby show open to babies up to 24 months; the Ugly Truck Contest; kids and adults games; and volleyball in the park and much, much more.
You won’t want to miss a full day and night of activities at the Amsterdam Jubilee on Saturday, September 27th.
