HENRY COUNTY, Mo – Eleven more people are behind bars as a result of the Vernon County Fugitive Task Force. According to a press release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, the felony warrants ranging from probation violations, false imprisonment, and assault to possession of a controlled substance, tampering with a motor vehicle, and failure to register as a sex offender were served by the Task Force last week. According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, the amount of fugitives being arrested is a direct reflection on the newly formed task force. “The team is accomplishing exactly what we intended for it to do, and it’s encouraging to see the cooperation between the Nevada City Officers, the County Deputies and the Conservation Agents that make up the team” said Mosher.
The Sheriff also said the combined results of the Fugitive Task Force and the placement of offenders on the Most Wanted list in the Daily Mail have increased the amount of wanted people that have begun turning themselves in. “It used to happen every now and then, but now we have people turning themselves in on a regular basis” Mosher said.
