The Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers started hearing about the injured mountain lion around 4 a.m., but couldn’t find it then.
The Troopers went back to the scene about 6:30 and found it still alive, and then killed it to stop its suffering; its legs were paralyzed. It was just east of the Gasconade River bridge on I-44.
