Driver Charged with Assault After Vehicle Pursuit

VERNON COUNTY, – According to court records, arrest warrants were issued Sunday for a driver who fled from the Nevada Police and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office Saturday afternoon.


According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Cody J Boyd, 29 of Nevada has been charged with: Resisting Arrest/Stop by Fleeing, Assault, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License, Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner, and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.


According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, Boyd was taken into custody by Deputies after a vehicle pursuit followed by a short foot pursuit when Boyd fled from her car at Talley Bend and Union Track Rd just South of Nevada. The Sheriff said Boyd attempted to go into a nearby house and when she could not get in, ran into the homeowner’s garage where she was apprehended. “Both agencies worked very well together during the incident and the violator was taken into custody without anyone getting hurt” Said Mosher.


Boyd was being held in the Vernon County Jail as of Monday and could be facing additional charges from the Nevada Police Department.
