Butler FFA Knowledge Team Places 6th at State Competition

COLUMBIA, Mo, — The Butler FFA Chapter placed sixth in the Missouri FFA Knowledge Leadership Career Development Event (CDE) at the 87th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 52 teams in the competition.

Butler team members include Casi Smith, Khnzie Wheatley, Tevin Taylor and Riley Mareth. Smith placed fifth, Wheatley placed 37th, and Taylor and Mareth tied for 48th place out of 208 participants. The Butler FFA advisors are Paul Jett and Dustin Bridges.

The knowledge teams spend numerous hours studying for the 100-question test covering FFA history and information on the National FFA Organization.

Sponsored by the Northwest Missouri State University Agriculture Department, this contest is one of many ways the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage students in learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The Missouri FFA has 25,829 members representing 338 chapters. The national organization has more than 610,000 members representing 7,665 local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
