Stolen Grass Seed Found

A Kansas Wildlife and Parks (KWP) Park Ranger at Hillsdale Lake in rural Miami County, Kansas located all 22 bags of grass seed Saturday in a KWP public parking lot on 231st street in the northwest area of the lake. The Ranger stated the seed was not in the parking lot on Sunday, 05-11-2014 when he checked the lot. We feel the thief held onto the seed until several news stories were done on the theft. The thief either decided not to plant the seed after finding out what it was or felt they could not sell it.

If anyone has observed a truck or trailer carrying 22 white bags in the area of northern Miami County or around Hillsdale Lake between Sunday and Saturday please call Detective Brett Wilson of the Johnson County, Kansas Sheriff’s Office at 913-715-5561.
