Springfield, Missouri – About 1,500 people will be in Springfield for the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church June 6-9.
Clergy and at least one lay person from 855 churches in Missouri will attend the conference that includes educational sessions and information about best practices. Retiring clergy also will be honored and new clergy ordained.
Adam Hamilton, pastor at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, will lead many of the learning sessions. Hamilton is the author of several books and has the distinction of being pastor of the largest United Methodist Church in the world with 20,000 members. Convention attendees in Springfield spend an average $125 to $150 per person per day.
