Body found at Stockton Lake identified; FBI calls death suspicious

NEAR STOCKTON, Mo. -

Federal authorities say they are now investigating the body of a Springfield man found at Stockton Lake last month as a suspicious death.

The body of Michael Scott Algiere, 26, was found in the Crabtree Cove area of Stockton Lake on Sunday, July 27. Investigators believe the man had been dead for at least two days. The FBI is now investigating the death as suspicious.

A couple on a hike found the body Sunday afternoon.
