Open Up and Help

You might be the one to help save someone’s life. It only takes about 5 minutes of your time to swab your mouth with 4 q-tips, not a needle, not a surgical procedure; just opening up your mouth that might save a life.

Rebecca Hertzog is in need of a bone marrow transplant and at this time is still searching for her Miracle Match. Rebecca is the daughter Jim and Kathy Hertzog who own the Mo-Kan Livestock Market in Passaic.

Rebecca has been diagnosed for a 2nd time with acute myeloid leukemia, after being in remission for 4 ½ years and is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the KU Med Center.

There will be a marrow donor registry drive held on Sunday, August 17th from 1 – 4pm at the Mo-Kan Livestock Market in Passaic (5 miles North of Butler). Only those people between the ages of 18 and 44 are eligible.

There is also an on-line drive available if you aren’t able to at attend on August 17th. Just go to www.bethematchfoundation.org/goto/bewithbecca and put in the promo code bewithbecca and they will send you a kit in the mail.

Now is the time for our community to step up and help a young lady in need. Be a part of the marrow donor registry drive on Sunday, August 17th from 1 – 4pm, tomorrow it might be your child.
