BUTLER, Mo – Tax free weekend in Missouri is underway. Parents can can save some money on their kids before they head back to school from August 1st through August 3rd.
Retail workers say this is an important weekend for them as well as parents because cash registers will be heating up. Workers at local Walmart stores spent most of Thursday stocking shelves. Shoppers can buy items including back to school supplies, clothing and computers without paying and sales tax. There are some limitations. One article of clothing must cost $100 or less, personal computers cannot exceed $3500 and school supplies cannot exceed more than $50 per purchase.
Some communities do not waive their local sales tax.
