East Outer Road Bridge Hopes to Reopen by Summer

The East Outer Road Bridge was closed on December 10^th by MoDot following a routine inspection which showed the bridge had continued deterioration of a structural element.

The bridge which connects Rockhaven Road with Peculiar Drive over I-49 northwest of Harrisonville carried approximately 150 travelers per day was originally scheduled for rehabilitation and deck replacement in 2016.

MoDot has opened bids on the contract and construction should begin as soon as contractors are able to mobilize and weather permitting.

Design engineers are hoping for the bridge to re-open no later than July 1^st.
