VERNON COUNTY, MO - Ten firearms have been recovered in a burglary the Sheriff’s Office responded to Thursday afternoon.

According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, at least 18 firearms along with ammunition was taken from a residence in the county. Sheriff’s Deputies and county detectives responded to the call where they processed the crime scene and recovered fingerprints.

The Sheriff said detectives followed up on tips that lead to the recovery of some of the firearms. “We have recovered 10 of the firearms as well as the ammunition” said Mosher.

The Sheriff also said two people are in custody and a third suspect who is a juvenile has been referred to the Juvenile Office.

Arrest warrants for Burglary in the second degree and stealing have been issued for Chance Hill, 19 of Richards and Gavin Doolin, 17 of Milo. Both people are being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.

Mosher said the investigation is ongoing and they hope to track down the remaining firearms.
