Barricaded Suspect In Daviess County Dead from Apparent Self-inflicted Gunshot Wound

A man suspected of killing his former girlfriend and setting her house on fire committed suicide after firing at officers who wanted to question him Monday night.

On October 27, 2014, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, along with officers from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, responded to a residence just east of McFall, Missouri, in Daviess County, attempting to contact David M. Call, 50, of Kansas City, Missouri. Call was a suspect in a homicide that occurred in Trenton, Missouri, on October 26, 2014.

When officers arrived at the residence at 3:50 p.m. on October 27, Call fired several rounds at them. Call then barricaded himself inside the residence.

Negotiations with Call were ongoing, but contact was eventually lost.

At approximately 8 p.m., entry was made into the residence where Call was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation continues.
