HENRY COUNTY, Mo – Registration is now open for the annual “Halloween Hustle 5K: Zombie-Thon Attacks Cancer” October 25, at the Missouri Department of Conservation trail on Second Street in Clinton. The wilderness run includes uneven, varying terrain and spooky surprises along the way. Runners and walkers are welcome to take part.
New games for children and a one-mile, “monster-free” Kids Run for Fun. Event T-shirts are available to those who register by October 17. The 5K registration fee is $20 and the fun run registration fee is $10. Registrations will be taken the day of the race but participants will not receive T-shirts. Also, the 5K fee increases to $25 after October 17.
Funds raised from the event, which is hosted by the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation, will help local cancer patients with non-covered services and supplies. Costs for the event are being underwritten by local sponsors to allow the money being raised to help patients.
On race day, registration opens at 9:00am, with kids’ games from 9:00 to 11:00 am, fun run at 9:30am, 5K at 10:00 and awards following.
Participants are encouraged to dress in costume to win prizes. Costume judging will take place during registration, with awards presented after the race, including medals in several race categories and prizes to the overall top male and female finishers. For more information, call 660-890-7108.
