BATES COUNTY, Mo – You can make a difference and help keep people warm this winter.
Chief Jack Whitehorn is once again collecting blankets, quilts, warm clothes and toys for children which will be taken to the Quapaw Indian tribe in Oklahoma. Each year Chief Whitehorn selects a different tribe to help keep warm in the winter.
This year in addition to warm items, he is asking for canned food which will be used for Christmas dinner. If you would like to help those less fortunate than you, collect your items, put them in a strong, heavy duty trash bag, take them to the New Xpress in Butler where Chief Whitehorn will collect them.
The collection deadline is the first week of December so all deliveries will make it in time for Christmas. Help keep someone warm this winter.
