Oldest School in Continuous Operation in Bates County Adds Pre-School

BATES COUNTY, MO – A little known fact is that the Zion Lutheran School is the oldest school in continuous operation in Bates County. The school was established at the same time as the Zion Lutheran Church, in 1868.

Even though the school is the oldest in Bates County, it still is up to date with new technology. And now there is a new addition to the school – a Pre-School that will open their doors on November 3rd.

Zion Lutheran Pre-school still is taking applications and will offer quality education to 3, 4 and 5 year olds. If you are interested, enrollment may be made at any time by contacting the school at 660-598-6213.

Also mark your calendars now for the Zion Lutheran School’s annual chili supper and silent auction in February 2015, always a great evening.

Thanks to Beverly Sullins for giving us some history on the Zion Lutheran School, the oldest school in continuous operation in Bates County.
