BUTLER, Mo – That is what the City of Butler is going to do as the City Council passed an ordinance approving a settlement agreement with CenturyLink. The City of Butler was a putative class member in a lawsuit to recover unpaid business License Taxes and a settlement agreement was filed and preliminarily approved by the Circuit Court of St. Louis County on August 22, 2014.
Tom Kaleko from Springsted and Sam MacDonald from McLiney and Company came before the Council for consideration as a Financial Money Manager for the City of Butler. The Finance Committee will call a special meeting to review both proposals and bring a recommendation back to the Council
Elizabeth Ogg, Bates County Economic Developer, came before the Council to get approval for the submission of the Stage 2 submission of the Bates County Energy Efficiency Program. November 10th is the deadline for submission and this will be a two year energy efficiency incentive plan, with commitments by residential associations, governments, institutions or businesses in the community that will yield continual improvement. Council gave permission for the submission.
In other business Butler Parks and Recreation will put new dirt on the Comet field now so that it will have time to settle before spring. They have money in their budget to take care of the $5,000 cost.
