Appleton City High School students competed in the WEMO Conference Art Show on April 13 in Archie. Each school was allowed to enter 15 pieces, and there were two categories: 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work.
Appleton City students won overall Best of Show in both categories. Jolea Dillon won Best of Show in 2-D with a charcoal portrait, and Jacob Johannigmeier won Best of Show in 3-D with his ceramic castle tower. Logan Siegismund also won 2nd Place Best of Show in 2-D for his Elvis portrait.
AC students won a total of 11 blue ribbons, 3 red ribbons, and 1 white. Blue ribbon winners were: Jolea Dillon (3), Logan Siegismund (3), Jacob Johannigmeier (2), Madison Park, Paige Donnahue, and Courtney Stevens. Red ribbon winners were: Zach Fawcette, Jacob Johannigmeier, and Casey Hilte. A white ribbon was won by Kimberly Frost.
Middle School students also competed, with Appleton City earning a clean sweep with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Best of Show. First Place was won by Jeremy Howery, 2nd place by Sarah Parsons, and 3rd Place by Lily Dennis-Meek.
