Last Year Jumping Out of a Plane, This Year Chillin’ on the Roof

BUTLER, Mo – If you remember last year, Aaron Allen jumped out of an airplane at the Butler Airport wearing a red dress. All of this was done because the Butler Elementary School raised $10,000 for the “Jump Rope for Heart / Hoops for Heart program.

And now, one year later Mr. Allen is at it again, and he’s brought along a friend. Mr. Allen and Steve Hubbard, Butler Elementary Principal spent Tuesday afternoon and night on the roof of the cafeteria. All this was done because once again the Butler Elementary School raised $10,000 for the “Jump Rope for Heart / Hoops for Heart Program. I think this takes dedication to “new heights.”

The Jump Rope for Heart / Hoops for Heart program is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) which promote physical education and provide children with knowledge of heart disease and stroke while raising funds for cardiovascular disease research, stroke research and health education.
