Morning thunderstorms will continue to lift off to the northeast, clearing out of the area by mid morning.
Redevelopment of storms is expected along and ahead of the cold front this afternoon, possibly resulting in strong straight line winds, large hail, or possibly an isolated, brief tornado with any of the more robust storms that develop.
The front should be out of the KC metro no later than 7 PM and the rest of the region by 10 PM, ending any severe storm chances. Cooler temperatures are expected for the rest of the week behind the boundary.
