Arrests in Passing Counterfeit Bills

BATES COUNTY, MO – On September 22nd Butler Officers took a report of a female attempting to pass a counterfeit $10 bill at the Filling Station. A further investigation lead to Wal-Mart where the female, later identified as 50 year old Angela Vanlandingham, had passed counterfeit bills on two different occasions.


Butler Officers located the suspects in Adrian, MO and applied for a search warrant of the residence. With the help of the Bates County Sheriff’s Office and the Adrian Police Department, the search warrant was served at 100 W 8th Street Lot #1 in Adrian on October 3rd.


Over seven hundred Dollars in counterfeit money was seized, along with several computers. Vanlandingham is currently being held at the Bates County Sheriff’s Office on a $40,000 cash / surety bond for four counts of Forgery. Charges are pending on Vanlandingham’s fiancé, Brandon Eastwood.
