BATES COUNTY, Mo - In Mid July Juniors from Miami R1 competed in Nashville, Tennessee with their FCCLA STAR Event and both girls received a gold medal for all their hard work. Jaclyn Crawford competed in the recycle and redesign category with her homemade plastic bag Miss Eco. wallets that she hopes will help encourage people to recycle more.
Caitlin Slattery competed in the promote and publicize FCCLA category and showed the judges all that she had done to help get the community. and more members involved in the Miami R1 FCCLA chapter, Both of these girls have worked very hard to get to this point by winning. First in their category not only at regional competition, but also at the state level competition.
The girls would like to thank everyone for supporting them take this year long project all the way to the national conference so that they could share with others about something they care a lot about.
