The Missouri Highway Patrol's Water Patrol division says Allen Wienecke, 52 and his son, Jonathen Wienecke, 20, both of Sugarland, Texas, were hurt Wednesday afternoon in Davey Hollow Cove.
Troopers say they had just filled the 1999 Starcraft and tried to start it, when the boat exploded.
Allen Wienecke had minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Jonathen Wienecke suffered was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital for his injuries.
