Two Vehicle Crash on 52 Highway

BATES COUNTY, Mo - The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Bates County Sheriff and Bates County EMS responded to a 2 vehicle accident on Missouri 52 Highway West about 1 mile East of Route O around 6:30PM on Wednesday July 24th.

Injured in the accident were Daylon Turner, age 26 of Appleton City, and James Knight, age 27 of Appleton City.

The injuries caused by the accident were non life threatening. Knight received no injuries from the crash and Turner received minor injuries. Turner was also transported by EMS to Bates County Memorial Hospital.

The crash occurred when Turner was traveling East on Missouri 52 Highway West and crossed the center of the roadway into the westbound lane.

Traveling West on Missouri 52 Highway Westbound, Knight traveled off the roadway in an attempt to avoid a collision with Turner. Turner traveling in the opposite lane, struck Knight’s trailer.
