WARSAW, Mo. – The annual Hickory County Cattlemen’s Bus Tour will be held August 4 through August 7, 2014. Plans are underway to provide stops in Iowa and Illinois.
Iowa stops include Werner Family Angus, Inc. which features the Werner Feed Efficiency Testing Center; Hoover Angus, 2005 Angus Producer of the Year; Couser Cattle Company, 2010 winner of NCBA’s Environmental Stewardship Award; Summit Farms; a diversified beef, pork and crop production company; and Sievers Family Farms which operate two monoslope confinement feeding barns and direct market beef.
Illinois stops include Werner Angus Farms, a spring and fall calving purebred producer; Tyson Fresh Meats plant tour; Lowderman Cattle Company, a purebred Hereford operation; and Toland’s River Oak Ranch, which specializes in low input contract growing beef replacement heifers utilizing rotational grazing on tall fescue pastures.
The cost per person is $335 which includes transportation and hotels (double occupancy). Reservations will be accepted until June 20 or until the bus is full. Participants will load the bus at either Preston or Lincoln.
